Learn About The Many Tinnitus Causes

There are numerous tinnitus causes that have been discussed, from vitamin deficiencies to high blood pressure. The ringing sound you hear in your ears is called tinnitus. It affects about one out of every ten people. But do not despair as you are not alone. The condition is increasing in numbers and there is treatment available.

One of the most common tinnitus causes is an increase in the blood pressure. This can take a while to notice, but if it does you will begin to notice the symptoms. For instance if you have been noticing a slight increase in your heart rate for no obvious reason, this may be a sign that you are having an increase in your heart rate due to a higher than normal blood pressure. Other medications such as sedatives or aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, some antidepressants and the hormone estrogen can also cause an increase in the level of blood pressure.

Another of the tinnitus causes is damage to the inner ear, which can be caused by high or low blood pressure, or by high or low cholesterol. This makes it difficult to diagnose tinnitus at first. If you think you might have tinnitus, you should talk to your doctor. After a thorough examination, a diagnosis can then be reached. There are various tinnitus treatments depending on what is causing the tinnitus.

Some tinnitus causes are more serious and even result in hearing loss. For instance, a condition called conductive hearing loss makes the affected person hear sound through only one of two ears. This can also lead to dizziness and hearing impairment, leading to the need for a hearing aid. If you have this condition, you will probably require an implant.

Other tinnitus causes are more mysterious and it takes time to figure out exactly what they are. One such cause is stress. When you are stressed, you tend to shut down certain brain areas. This results in the brain not sending out appropriate signals. Some people can hear music, but they can't hear the words when they speak them, and other people can only hear the sound of the words but can't make any sense of what they're saying.

One very common tinnitus causes is wax in the ear, which is normally excreted by the body. However, many people don't clean their ears very often enough and this can result in buildup of earwax. Earwax clogs up the hearing process, so you can easily develop tinnitus. A hearing aid will usually remove earwax buildup. As an alternative, you can try herbal remedies such as apple cider vinegar, honey and salt.
